Appreciation
Many thanks to the artists of Ubud for letting me into their homes and sharing their time and thoughts about technology. I am deeply endebtted to Suteja Neka for use of his Library, and his introduction to Ari Smit. This web site was built at Prada Internet Cafe and Bungalows through the gracious accomodation of Komang Budasdra. Thanks also to David Lewellayn, for sharing valuable floppy disks, a rare commodity in Ubud.

Antonio Maria Blanco 1926-
Manilla born spanish artist Blanco still paints daily in his Ubud house and studio, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

Suteja Neka 1939-
Art collector, founder of the Neka Museum in Ubud, Bali, and gallery owner, Neka has authored several books on Balines and Indonesian art. As director of the Neka Museum, Neka has developed many traveling exhibits supporting local arts throughout Indonesia and the world.

Arie Smit 1919-
Dutch expatriate Smit survived internment by the Japanese in World War II and arrived in Ubud in 1956. His support of local painters inspired the Young Artists style in Bali. Agung Rai
Founder of the Agung Rai Museum or Art (ARMA). The museum and the ARMA foundation was founded in 1996 as a center for visual and performing arts. Interviewed March 10, 1998 at his museum.
